Goodye KC mix
Here’s the last mix from my time here in KC. It’s been fun and music has of course played a huge role.
A few standouts. Local boy Max Justus opening for the ridiculously fun Gil Mantera’s Party Dream at recordBar. Dan Deacon in a warehouse in the West Bottoms. The Republic Tigers at Crosstown Station with Flippin. Wilco at Grinders with the Barkley crew. Spoon at the Grenada. Kings of Leon at the Sprint Center. The redemptive Passion Pit show at Beaumont after their previous show was cancelled. The incredible disappointment in the canceled Springsteen show. The Miike Snow dance party at recordBar with Prentiss. The Big Pink at the Bottleneck in Lawrence. AC Slater, Drop the Lime and Treasure Fingers at Czar Bar and Luna respectively. Helping organize the Dance For the Kids event featuring Adam Freeland. All topped off by a crazy Girl Talk show in the rain at Grinders. I’ll certainly miss the depth and breadth of the music scene here in KC.
As for the mix. I wanted it to represent my full time here in KC. So you’ll notice some from the above. But also some local stuff I dug and some stuff that stuck with me sonically or thematically from the past two years. Track list and download link below.
