Daily Happiness - Montana (mix)
I’m taking a hiatus on this blog for a couple days. I’m headed to Montana, a land without electronic distraction (if I can help it). Very excited…
Typically I’ll throw together a playlist for my trips. And this is no exception. This time I’ll offer it up to you.
The vibe? Paced. Thoughtful. Pensive.
Mainly acoustic and raw. A lot of third-person story songs. The obvious are on there. Bon Iver, Iron & Wine, Neil Young, J. Tillman… But a few other standouts. Blaze Foley, a badass Austin songwriter that never really got full recognition for his contributions. My single favorite non-album Springsteen track Wages of Sin. A couple Damien Jurado tracks. A guy whose songs have been part of my life’s soundtrack since I was 14. And of course I couldn’t skip the Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy cover of a R. Kelly song.

Enjoy. See you Tuesday.
